Cathy Rust is an environmental policy consultant with over 25 years of experience in a variety of fields. She has a broad skill set in sustainability, research and analysis, and project management. She specializes in creating and implementing new, visionary programs for companies and organizations.
Cathy is the creator and writer of a well-known niche blog, BEC Green, about green building materials, energy efficiency, waste management and the circular economy. She often contributes to other sites such as Solid Waste and Recycling Magazine and Green Builder Media.
Cathy holds a B.Sc. from McGill University in Biology (specialty, human genetics), and an MA from the University of Toronto in Political Science and Environmental Studies. She is also an active LEED AP, BD+NC (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Accredited Professional, specialty in Building Design and New Construction) and is a volunteer Climate Leader with the Climate Reality Project.
